Southern Oregon Education Service District (SOESD) Early Childhood Services (ECS), a widely recognized early childhood special education program committed to inclusion, family partnership, and developmentally appropriate practices, invites applications for a Speech & Language Pathologist at the Gilbert Creek Child Development Center in Grants Pass.

Our transdisciplinary team of 25 dedicated teachers, assistants, family consultants, therapists, evaluators, and office professionals are focused on authentic and supportive relationships, professional growth through coaching and mentoring, and maintaining a "family feel" to our work place. Speech & Language Pathologist (Birth - Age 5)
Position Goal: To help students communicate appropriately through planning, implementing, and evaluation of individualized education programs.
Essential Functions :
  • Assessing individual educational speech-language needs of students and making recommendations
  • Preparing individual educational programs and materials.
  • Delivering effective speech-language therapy to identified students.
  • Consulting with parents to integrate home and school goals.
  • Assisting schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention and other educational decisions.
  • Providing consultations to teachers regarding speech-language interventions.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive , flexible,and cooperative relationships with ESD and local district staff.
  • Making independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
  • Preparing accountability records regarding services provided.
  • Communicating clearly and appropriately.
  • Participating in professional growth activities.
  • Complying with local district and ESD rules and policies.
  • Performing physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
  • Performing jon related tasks as designated by supervisor.
Minimum Pre-Requisites:
  • Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program
  • Oregon teachers' license with speech impaired endorsement and acquire Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or
  • Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license.

Length of Position: .6-1.0 FTE/190 days (School year calendar)
Salary: Per licensed collective bargaining agreement for school year: $62,844 to $98,865 annually.
Immediate Supervisor: Program Administrator
