summary Palmetto, GA The Dock Worker is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling and loading freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions, as well as Federal, State and customer regulations. Duties include but are not limited to: Controlling and maintaining all records required for accurate. On-time completion of shipments. Operate forklifts. Operate pallet jacks. Compliance with company C-TPAT security procedures. Other duties as assigned. 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday (some Saturdays required) Pay starting at $17.50 per hour required-skills: Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. A combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration. Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred. The Dock Worker must be a team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and ability to work with little direction in a fast-paced environment. Must be PC proficient with ability to type and update computer system quickly and accurately. Candidates must possess ability to individually lift a minimum of 30lbs and team lift a minimum of 70 lbsand work on your feet all day. Applicants must be able to pass TSA screening to work in an IAC environment. Candidates will understand and carry out instructions given orally and in writing, including those on manifest and other shipping documents. Candidates must possess good judgment; know when to escalate issues and when to try to resolve. Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines.
