JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Department : Stepdown Intermediate Care
Shift Timing: 07:00 - 19:30 Monday to Friday 3 days 12 hour shift
Per Week: 36 Hours
35 bed Adult Med Surg Stroke patients
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Required a minimum of 1 year of experience
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing.
Education:
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg Neuro Stroke experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Active unencumbered RN Kansas state license
  • One year of Cerner experience
