The Director of Community Engagement will lead the corporate church body in engaging with the surrounding community and will facilitate connection/relationships among current members of Eastside Presbyterian Church. The ideal candidate for this position is highly relational, creative, resourceful, administrative, and organized. The primary goal will always remain the effective delivery of special events that are cohesive and consistent with the mission and vision of Eastside Presbyterian Church. The Director of Community Engagement will seek to faithfully and joyfully embrace the messiness and nuance of ministry work, have the capacity to work independently as well as with a team, and possess gifts for equipping a diverse group of people to serve effectively. Essential Job Functions Hospitality • Providing oversight and helping to cultivate a welcoming and hospitable environment for regular activities at EPC o Develop teams and pathways to help people move into being an engaged member of EPC. Create connectional avenues into small groups and ministry teams • Build relationships and winsomely represent the church staff in interactions with the congregation and community Events • Oversee the promotion, staffing, layout, planning, execution, and debrief of major church events and activities where the cultivation of relationships can organically happen. Coordination, communication and high-quality delivery on major events and special initiatives Work with the Communications Team for better promotion through the website, social media, announcements, signage, etc. Strategically thread events into the connection process Build sustainable teams to provide a tangible expression of our values towards people Act as a central liaison point for events • Participate in weekly staff meetings, as well as other staff development opportunities • Ensure compliance with EPC’s allergen-friendly food policies during events • Co-manage EPC’s calendar of events with the Church Administrator • Act as an advisor and provide support, when allowed by other duties, to ministry leaders for events for which they have primary responsibility Requirements

Essential Qualifications • A committed believer with a healthy and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, devoting regular time to prayer and Bible study • Possess a lifestyle and character that is consistent with Biblical standards for one called to a position of church leadership • A lifetime learner who leads and serves with humble confidence • Agreement with the vitals of the PCA as outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith • Commitment to excellence and high standards • Demonstrate care, kindness, and respect for others • Commitment to promoting peace within the church and resolving conflicts according to Matthew 18 principles • Inward and outward call to ministry • Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree
