Registered Nurse (PRN)

Essential Duties:

  • Administer and document medications, treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician.
  • Assess, document and follow-up all aspects of the individual’s health care Communicate clinical assessment information effectively to both professional and non-professional individuals, including family, advocates, staff and the individuals
  • Accompany and/or transport individuals to medical appointments as needed
    Evaluate self-medication potential and make recommendation to inter-disciplinary team
  • Collaborate with physicians, other health disciplines and members of the interdisciplinary team to identify and evaluate health needs of individual
  • Provide support and training to direct care staff in the management of health care Ensure compliance with regulatory standards as they relate to specific program areas, such as licensing regulations and current policy
  • Completes 24 hours of in-service annually
  • Ensures quality compliance of clinical/professional standards of practice
  • Consistently demonstrates good judgment and decisions regarding health concerns
  • Maintain confidentiality of individual’s medical records and personal information
    Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of all personnel
  • Arranges to have needed medications, supplies and equipment on hand
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible and deviate from the routine, according to the needs of the program
  • Will perform other duties as directed by the Administrator, Program Director and Director of Residential Operations
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Reports for duty on time as scheduled
Other Job Duties:
  • Will comply with the policies and procedures of Developmental Programs Division, as well as the requirements set forth by the Department of Health, Department of Public Welfare and their respective facilities.
  • Will comply with the training expectations set forth by DGV, including maintaining CPR/FA certifications
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with entire Interdisciplinary team as well as families, county case managers and all other stakeholders.
  • Will be responsible for other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Licenses/Education/Experience:
Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nursing License in the state of Pennsylvania
Valid Driver's License (issued from the state of residence) and driving approval from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, CPR/First Aid Certification
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to read and write in English
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Ability to use/learn various databases reporting system (Care Tracker), Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

Pay for RNs start at $36.75/hr.+ for experience. $1 shift differentials are offered to staff working evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
