Unclassified per Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 124.11(A)(13). Conducts medical assessments, examinations & prescribes treatment for patients. Directs patient medical care & related activities; examines patients for proper diagnosis; orders &/or performs diagnostic examinations/tests; orders laboratory work; monitors & treats patient's progress; acts as consultant to other medical staff on medical/surgical-related symptomology of patients; completes appropriate documentation of activities; completes examination, Medicare billing & other reports in a timely & comprehensive manner; makes rounds and examines patients on all nursing units; provides emergency medical care to patients (e.g., examines patients for diagnosis
of acute distress, determines immediate treatment of patient injuries, illnesses, &/or emotional crisis [e.g., cardiac arrest, neurological problems, ingestion of toxic/illicit substances, drug overdoses]; prescribes emergency medication as deemed necessary; performs/orders diagnostic tests to determine severity/extent of disease/trauma; interprets EKG's; monitors,
evaluates &/or assesses further treatment; determines necessity of transfer to general hospital for care; coordinates & acts as liaison for acute care emergency medical services with medical/surgical hospitals in the Toledo Metro Area; completes appropriate documentation of activities); provides medical consultation & provides management recommendations for patients; contacts external medical agencies for patient follow-up or consultation referrals; attends to emergency treatment for accidents; prepares Quality Assurance (QA) reports; reviews & reports to Chief Clinical Officer (COO); accepts assignments from COO &/or Medical Director; provides medical record documentation that meet accrediting agency, federal
standards & requirements for Medicare reimbursement.
Works with the Clinic staff for the operation of the following entities: Medical Clinic; Ancillary Medical Services (e.g., laboratory, x-ray & EKG services); contract services for medical & surgical consultations (i.e., podiatry, eye, neurology & other specialties) & other contract services as needed. In collaboration with the CEO or designee, participates in budget development & expense management for areas of responsibility; assists the assigned staff to develop & evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives
& quality outcomes for the physical medical care of patients; collaborates with the interdisciplinary health team & coordinates the medical & physical aftercare of patients; leads & directs a recovery focused approach to the patient's medical & physical needs & works with the treatment teams to integrate those needs with the other recovery needs; evaluates the quality
of care provided through coordination with the QA/PI Department & the medical staff QA/PI & hospital safety plans.
Serves as primary liaison with hospital medical/clinical staff & community resources on emergency diagnosis & treatment instructs other medical/clinical staff (e.g., physicians, resident physicians, psychiatrists, medical support staff, medical students) in emergency aspects of medicine & general medical/surgical areas; provides lectures/seminars to other medical clinical staff in specialized area (e.g., Emergency Medicine); conducts case conferences as requested; consults with hospital's senior staff regarding hospital's medical/medical emergency policies & procedures; recruits affiliated doctors in other specialty areas to provide in-service lectures/seminars to appropriate staff; completes appropriate CME activities to remain clinically up to date; completes records/documentation as required to above activities; participates in other activities as requested by
CCO (e.g. M&M reviews); and completes documentation appropriate to activities as assigned.

Qualifications
Certificate to practice medicine issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.14 of Revised Code & certificate of registration issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.281 of Revised Code or limited registration with subsequent application for next available biennial medical state board examination (i.e., Federation Licensing Examination) to test for limited certificate per Section 4731.292 of Revised Code as it applies for foreign medical graduates.
