Certification Details Certifications Required: Active Nursing License, BLS, Telemetry. Dress Code: Navy scrub pants, White scrub top, and Scrub jacket must be white. Hospital provided green scrubs for covid patients on request. Job Details Mission Hospital is a 815-bed healthcare facility located in Asheville, North Carolina. Job Requirements Must have: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry. Requested Skill Set: telemetry, BLS/ACLS, familiarity with pulmonary patients, bipap, tracheostomy, chest tubes, wounds, wound vac, drains, renal patients, IV insertion, maintenance of central lines, and post-op monitoring. Advanced skills needed: Medication administration/instillation via chest tube. Training and check off for advanced competency provided by staff if needed. Schedule Information Unit staffing description: Days include 1 HUC, 1 12 hour CNA, 1 8 hour CNA; Nights include 1 CNA. Scheduling requirements: modified self-schedule, 3 weekend shifts (Fri, Sat, or Sun) per six-week schedule. Floating policy: Float as all other staff to Med-Surge units with a float/pull grid for fairness. Unit Specific Information Number of Beds: 16. Patient Ratios: 1 RN:4 patients, 5:1 or 6:1 with stretched staffing plans. Currently serving as mixed Covid positive/negative unit for the hospital as numbers rise and fall, provided with med surg level patient care. Equipment includes Bedside VS machines-VC 150’s, Wow’s: mobile work stations with computers, scanner for med administration, and supplies, as well as lifting equipment for safe patient movement, bed alarms, and mobile telemetry. Documentation system: Cerner/power chart. Procedures performed on unit include Chest tube insertion, Thoracentesis, Dobhoff placement, and CAPD completed by the Renal Nurse.
