Night Shift Radiology/CT/Laboratory Technologist

Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of a Radiology Technologist, Lab/CT Tech at our freestanding emergency department is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Functions
  • The Radiology Technologist, Lab/CT Tech is responsible for safely and proficiently conducting general radiology and computerized tomography imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations and laws, and ensures the physician on duty is notified of the results.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and or RN on duty
  • As a key member of the patient care delivery team, the radiology technologist gets the opportunity to be involved with the patient from arrival to discharge, providing the highest quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with clinical care team to obtain the most effective diagnostic images possible.
  • Our radiology technologists are also proficient in laboratory functions and frequently assist in performing various laboratory tests in order to expedite patient treatment.
  • Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader and PACS.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing.
  • Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging and laboratory equipment.
  • Perform proficiency testing and/or split sample analysis periodically, as well as other quality control and assessment measures assigned to this position and established by the facility.
  • Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
  • Works closely with the Emergency Service Partners' management support teams to facilitate a collaborative, customer service oriented, and professional freestanding emergency room atmosphere that exemplifies the ESP guiding principles: Service , Integrity , Reliability , Efficiency , Flexibility, and Foresight .
Skills & Requirements
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
  • Graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience performing Computed Tomography (CT) and Radiographic procedures in an emergency setting
  • Current registry with A.R.R.T. (the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Must maintain current MRT registry with the Texas Department of Health
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Must be willing to learn basic laboratory testing procedures
  • Requires a high level of versatility and a willingness to learn new elements on a daily basis
  • Strong command of applicable technology and software skills

  • Able to successfully and tactfully deal with patients, families, physicians and other employees
