Vice President of Content Strategy

is responsible for creating the content strategy for Marcus Theatres and for planning and programming the content on the organization’s screens.They build meaningful and strong relationships with film studios and other content providers to ensure attendance and revenue are maximized. This role will report to the President. Essential Functions/Job Duties: •

Plan, develop, and implement the organization’s content strategy to drive revenue for the division; •

Lead the Content Programming team to ensure industry-leading content programming that maximizes attendance and revenue; •

Develop, enrich and maintain strategic partnerships with film studios and providers of alternative content to ensure uninterrupted supply of content and favorable contract terms; •

Negotiate with film studios and alternative content providers to optimize contract details and screen placement for all film programming; •

Responsible for booking clients to enrich content offerings; •

Program all content for the organization’s screens; •

Responsible for minimizing the cost to the organization of studio and event content; •

Complete market analysis to utilize various data points to better understand the surrounding competition, current attendance population trends and demographic data of the population surrounding theatre locations in our division to determine film and alternative content needs to optimize attendance and revenue; •

Stay abreast of film industry trends, as well as trends involving alternative content, including special events, broadcasts, live events, and gaming; •

Conduct weekly cross-functional meetings to collaborate, prioritize and plan all promotional activity for films and alternative content that will drive attendance and revenue; •

Monitor and report out on the financial performance of film programming and alternative content to division and corporate leaders; •

Work with immediate team and across the division to find and create process improvements that will lead to higher productivity and overall efficiencies; •

Mentor and develop the Content Programming team to create high levels of engagement and promote increased productivity; •

. Job Requirements: •

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in purchasing, programming, motion picture distribution, or film booking; •

Prior senior-level experience leading the development of strategy for the purchasing or programming function for an organization or a larger exhibition company; •

Prior experience in a film department or motion picture studio is preferred, but not required; •

Visionary leader who can balance big picture with the daily requirements of buying, scheduling and delivering alternative content. •

Ability to lead through constant change to create an inclusive, supportive and productive team •

Ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written communication; •

Ability to lead through influence while collaborating, building, and managing interdepartmental relationships; •

Data analysis and financial analysis acumen; •

Ability to select, mentor, and develop team members; •
