Accounting Lead

The Accounting Lead is responsible to ensure proper cost valuation is applied on the balance sheet, reconciliation to prove existence, accuracy, and integrity of all company inventory assets.
Key responsibilities:

  • Engage and collaborate with IT support / PMO / business regarding enhancements to current and proposed processes, as well as resolving production support issues including system changes as they relate to Inventory.
  • Participate and provide input to changes in business regarding new product lines or new ways of conducting business are recorded properly in the financial statements.
  • Manage and/or prepare the reconciliation and analysis of Car, Motorcycle, and Parts physical inventory to verify the existence, to ensure the proper cost accounting valuation of inventory and to make certain that cost of sales recognition is appropriate and accurately matched with related revenues.
  • Function has responsibility to identify and aid in the resolution of issues encountered with various inventory systems and interfaces of such systems into the IFT general ledger
  • Prepare the reconciliation and analysis of Car, Parts and Motorcycle inventory and related cost elements such as import costs.
  • Review and prepare/post journal entries to the general ledger for Cars, Motorcycles and Parts Inventory, including month-end closing procedures.
  • Perform procedures associated with physical inventory verification. Establish and enforce physical inventory verification processes; plan, schedule and coordinate with the Operations teams, Logistics and External Auditors.
  • Lead projects (ConDC and GFBB) to ensure they are successful in integrating project goals and that necessary areas are informed of potential project impacts.
  • Lead the daily activities of the inventory accounting team's internal and external staff.
  • Assist the annual audit and periodic review of the financial statements as it relates to Inventory and footnotes thereto that is performed by an external, independent Certified Public Accounting firm.
  • Lead and guide staff to help individually develop knowledge and career.
  • Take initiative to regularly lead new tasks as part of team goals.
  • Delegate responsibilities as necessary to ensure workflows are streamlined and efficient

  • Bachelor's Degree with major or concentration in accounting
  • 5-7 years in cost accounting, public accounting, or general accounting.
  • Must possess knowledge of either International Financial Reporting Standards, eGAAP, US GAAP
  • Very strong affinity for systems. Usage of several local systems required to effectively function in this position.
  • Ability to travel to perform Physical Inventories.

Preferences:
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Managerial Accountant
  • Supervisory / team lead experience preferred
  • Extensive experience in cost accounting and leading physical inventory counts preferred
  • Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and Mainframe experience a plus.
