JOB SUMMARY

The Bilingual/Bicultural Case Manager position, at the direction of and in collaboration with the Director of Community Support Services - CSS program, has the responsibility of providing all case management services to survivors of domestic violence who are seeking services at the YWCA Union County. This position will work closely with the Director to assist in the development of a safe and confidential atmosphere for all program participants. This position reports directly to and is supervised by the Director of Community Support Services.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED TRAINING

  • BA/BSW or commensurate experience.
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish speaking).
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency through either experience or education.
  • Must have some knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and trauma.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Maintain flexibility in schedule to meet client needs. Evenings required.
  • Must possess valid Driver's License.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Case Management

  • Responsible for ensuring the following services are provided to all participants: crisis interventions, intakes, accompaniment, assessments, case management, advocacy, and referrals.
  • Responsible for creating an empowering environment for program participants.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting program statistics and assessments as well as paper and electronic file entry and maintenance.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with other community agencies and members.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of CSS with the development and implementation of services.

Program Development

  • Expand the services provided in the case management program to meet the needs of diverse communities.
  • Collaboration with the Director of Community Support Services to ensure that program is directed by agency goals and priorities as indicated in the Strategic Plan.

Documentation / Supervision

  • Responsible for grant management in the form of reporting and statistics for case management in non-residential programs, assuring that required levels of services are maintained.
  • Documentation: maintain case records for clients, complete service schedules, and maintain other records as needed.
  • Participate in supervisory meetings with the CSS Director on a weekly basis.
  • Attend monthly staff and Intra-program meetings.
  • Complete statistical and narrative reports monthly or as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • All positions will be trained to answer the hotline and for shelter shift coverage.
