Primary Job Responsibilities: * Complete daily medication pass in the school program. * Perform routine health care and first aid procedures including medication administration under the supervision of the Nursing Coordinator. * Maintain medical records including documentation of treatment and medication administration, skin checks, monitoring of seizure activity, documentation of injuries and health and safety problems of students. * Assess and inform the Nursing Coordinator of emergency injuries or illnesses, and contact families and physicians as directed. * Monitor Vital Signs, heights and weights on a regular schedule based on individual student needs. * Order medications and medical supplies for students under the direction of the Nursing Coordinator. * Ongoing monitoring, stocking of medical supplies within the classrooms and medication area. * Participate in designated team meetings and case reviews for students under their supervision. * Present on specific health topics related to designated students. * Able to attend training as required. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Essential Job Functions: * Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather situations. * Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs * Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job. * Excellent organization and time management skills. * Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportations of individuals. * Able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including non violent crisis intervention. Qualifications Qualifications: * Licensed practical nurse, two years' experience preferred. * Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize activities with specific attention to higher level strategies while ensuring that details are also effectively addressed. * Knowledge of Massachusetts regulatory standards is required with preferred experience in regulatory compliance with standards from Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and Department of Public Health (DPH) * Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
