Summary: The Associate Chief Development Officer is responsible for leading marketing, communications, volunteer services, and parish outreach to engage board members, potential donors, media, volunteers, parishes, and other “friendraising” initiatives to build capacity, promote loyalty, and ultimately, impact fundraising. Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to department directors and staff from building the agency brand to supporting donor conversion. Position Responsibilities: Lead the people building strategy and capacity for the agency through marketing, public relations, volunteerism, and parish outreach to gain friends in the community that will promote programs, recruit advocates, and support the Catholic Charities family of agencies. Represent the agencies and its interests with corporate partners, government entities, coalitions, other nonprofit organizations, service-oriented organizations, media, and parishes. Develop overall strategy of converting community constituency, volunteers, and faith-based partners to brand ambassadors and/or donors to expand capacity for the agency. Lead multi-agency marketing and communications strategy to build brand equity, increase growth, foster partnerships, and generate interest among three distinct target markets (donor, volunteer, and client) using current print and digital marketing tools. Promote and support volunteerism in the community by promoting meaningful volunteer experiences and engaging corporate, education, and faith-based organizations with the purpose of implementing successful volunteer recruitment, retention, training, and recognition efforts. Lead and guide Parish Outreach initiatives to promote programs, support parish needs, and solicit support within the Catholic and faith-based community with the goals of fostering collaboration and community building. *Assist the Chief Development Officer with funding opportunities, events, and other development needs. Manage the visual and verbal brand across all agencies and programs maintaining a consistent and coherent style and voice. Manage publicity and media relations for the family of agencies via press releases, media advisories, statements, stories, and talking points to maintain consistent storytelling from brand to message to promotion. Advise leadership on appropriate crisis response communications and marketing activities when serving those in crisis, preserving neutrality during political controversy, and engaging the community for support. Master’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications or business-related field required.

Experience

Minimum of eight years’ experience in marketing, communications, and community engagement. Minimum of eight years’ experience in managing a high performing group of leaders and individuals responsible building capacity for growth.

License and Credentials

Reliable transportation Valid driver license Valid vehicle insurance Must have clean driving record.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of managerial and administrative leadership in human resources, finance, budgeting, and reporting. Experience managing a team of individuals by providing leadership and direction, Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Extensive working knowledge of digital marketing strategies, Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team. Must have good written and verbal skills. Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects at once with pending deadlines. Must be able to maintain high level of professionalism with internal clients and external partners. Must be able to support each of the functions of Mission Advancement including events, fundraising, grants, volunteers, and parish outreach. Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 10% local.
