VCU Medical Center is the only comprehensive Level I adult, pediatric and burn trauma center in the region. As a member of the Evans Haynes Burn Center, you will care for acute burns and assist with the reconstructive needs of burn survivors and people injured from fire, chemical, scalds, electrical burns and skin loss as a result from disease. It is a 16 bed unit providing all levels of care for adults with burn injuries and general level of care for pediatric patients. The Burn Procedure/Wound Care RN will work Monday through Friday 0700 to 1500. Burn wound care experience preferred, PACU or Critical Care experience required. This position will be responsible for assisting with daily procedural sedation and will be providing Phase I and II recovery in the burn procedure room. This role will also assist with burn wound care on all patients in and outside of the CCH8 burn unit with priority role being in the procedure room. Will provide burn wound care education to new team members and ongoing wound care orientation for all staff. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date unless grandfathered under previous requirements.
