When carding for an ICU patient, the nurse-to-patient ratio may be 1 nurse to 2-3 patients. When caring for non-ICU status patients, the nurse-to-patient ratio may be one nurse to 4 patients. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
