Job Description & Requirements- Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery

Associate’s degree in nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
RN license required. CPR required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required.
2 years experience required, 5 years preferred.Responsibilities: Assesses/reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process to:
Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment
• Pre and Post-Operative Care, i.e., general, bariatric, orthopedic, trauma, neurosurgical, genitourinary, etc.
• Pain Management
• Chest Tube Care/Insertion
• PEG, G-tube, J-tube care
• Traction
• Percutaneous, Sump, Jackson Pratt, or Hemovac drainage care
• Medication Administration
• NIH Stroke Scale
• KODA
• Access Central Lines
• Specialized IV Drips and Titration
• IV Therapy
• IVADD
• Waive Testing
• Transfusion Therapy
