Surgical Physician Assistant About this opportunity: Southwest Florida Breast Surgery: Specializing in the treatment of both benign & malignant breast disease, and located in sunny Naples, Florida, this cutting-edge surgical practice is currently seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant for a Full-Time position. The PA will work alongside the physician in the office seeing post op patients, follow ups, annual exams, and some new consults. The PA will cover hospital consults and discharges and occasionally assist in the operating room. Your key responsibilities: * Evaluate patients: take history and perform pertinent physical examination in hospital and office setting. * Provide post-surgical wound care and follow-up. * Coordinate care of patients. * Record and ensure availability and completeness of documentation, reports, and imaging examinations. * Provide patient education, counseling, and instruction. * Facilitate supervising physician referral of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, other resources in the community or other physicians. * Dictate progress notes, history and physical, and discharge summaries. * Order lab work/imaging as medically appropriate. * Initiate emergency measures on patients as required. * Provide in-service and daily consultation to nursing staff. * Assist surgeon in operating room. * All other specific tasks delegated by supervising physician in accordance with the physician assistant's knowledge and experience developed under the supervising physician in the field of breast surgery. Qualifications: * Holds a current license and is in good standing. * Maintains certification in accordance with Department of Regulations. * Able to assist in breast surgery efficiently and effectively. * Able to obtain and sustain clinical hospital privileges. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to work with minimum supervision. * Ability to travel within the surrounding communities. * Good diagnostic capabilities. * Graduate of an approved program or its equivalent. * Meets the standards set by the Board of Medicine.
