The Office of Student Health Services seeks candidates for a Registered Nurse position. This position is an in-person, on-campus registered nurse position, 29 hours per week, 12 months per year, Monday - Friday position. The Registered Nurse will function as part of the healthcare team in providing health services to a diverse population of students attending The College of New Jersey. The nurse will triage and assess the healthcare needs of students, assist the physician and nurse practitioner with evaluations and treatment of students, perform phlebotomy, point of care testing and interpretation, and provide health education and office operations support to ensure compliance with local and state regulatory requirements. The registered nurse will consult with the other members of the healthcare team and make referrals as needed. The registered nurse will assist in campus-wide health promotion initiatives, health education programs, student orientations, vaccination clinics, and research and quality improvement activities. The Student Health Services Registered Nurse will report to the Director of Student Health Services. Main Responsibilities: (List 5-7 main responsibilities using bullets) * Provide direct medical care, including triage and assessment of healthcare needs. * Provide support and assistance to physicians and advanced practice nurses. * Perform phlebotomy and in-office point-of-care testing. * Administer vaccines, including routine and travel vaccinations. * Assist with immunization compliance and office operations. Required Qualifications: (List qualifications using bullets. Examples below) * Bachelor's degree or higher with a current and valid license in good standing as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Jersey * Minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed registered nurse. * Current certification in Healthcare Provider CPR * Phlebotomy skills Preferred Qualifications: (List 3 preferred qualifications using bullets) * Experience working in a college-health setting * Experience with immunization compliance in Institutes of Higher Education * Experience administering IM, SQ, & Intradermal injections * Experience working with electronic health records (Medicat Preferred) Employer Qualifications: * Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of background check and reference checks * COVID-19 Testing and Compliance - The College has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement. Applicants must meet the requirements listed. * Bachelor's Degree or higher. * License in good standing as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Jersey. * Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. * Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to triage patients to determine the level of care needed. * A solid knowledge base and understanding of the physical, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the adolescent/young adult population. * Experience working with diverse populations including but not limited to BIPOC, international, first-generation, veterans, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and LGBTQ . * Knowledge of and ability to perform in-office point-of-care rapid testing with interpretation of test findings and implementation of treatment based on standing orders. * Experience with administration of vaccinations, including both routine vaccines and travel vaccinations. * Experience with interpretation and oversight of local, state, and federal compliance requirements for institutes of higher education, including regulated medical waste, hazardous waste, bloodborne pathogens, VFC/317, Influenza surveillance, immunization requirements, QA/QI, FERPA, and HIPAA.
