Bus Drivers (CDL) Cheyenne YMCA (WY)

Come join our Cheyenne YMCA after-school team as a minibus driver. We are looking for drivers who embody our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, have a genuine love for children and who are kind and patient. We provide in-depth and ongoing training to our drivers. If you meet the requirements and have the personality, we can teach you the skills for success in this role.

Hours: Driving hours during the school year are typically 2-3 hours/day in the mornings and afternoons. Summer hours will vary. Additional opportunities to work at our YMCA are open and this post can be combined for work at our Y up to 28 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

You'll transport children between school and the Cheyenne YMCA in YMCA owned minibuses, check in children as they board from our bus stops and handle basic bus related admin duties. You'll also supervise the kids ages 5-12 years old while on the bus.

Essential Functions:

1. Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.

2. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and record all information. Records gas

level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out bus each day.

3. Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.

4. Ensures that bus rules are announced and followed.

5. Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.

6. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Age 21 or older

2. Valid Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and clean Motor Vehicle Record.

3. Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus).

4. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR and First Aid.

5. Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model for youth.

Part-Time employees

also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

Posted Salary Range

USD $12.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
