The Missouri Department of Mental Health Investigations Unit (IU) seeks an Abuse/Neglect Investigator to be domiciled in Jefferson City, Missouri, within the IU’s Central Region. Hybrid/remote work options may be available after completion of a successful onboarding process and training.

Starting Salary: up to $52,200 commensurate with experience and education.

Responsibilities:

Conduct abuse/neglect investigations by initiating investigations in compliance with Department Operating Regulations; reviewing provider records and documentation; interviewing staff, individuals served by the department, and other persons involved in the alleged incident; and drafting investigative reports based on findings.
Travel within the immediate catchment area of central Missouri and as needed to assist the eastern and western regions across the state. This may include some overnight travel.
Hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, but onsite and travel hours can vary depending on the availability of individuals to be interviewed and other factors.
This is an intermediate, non-commissioned investigator position with opportunity for advancement.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Four to five years of investigative experience in the mental health field or related fields.
