Description:<br><br><ul><li>Manages and directs the daily tasks of individuals and project teams required to perform ongoing support of design, construction, startup and/or operations/maintenance activities of systems, structures, and components at nuclear facilities.</li><li>Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) complex codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to engineering processes.</li><li>Proven knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc).</li><li>Proven knowledge of common project schedule and cost tracking methodologies and programs (P6, MS Project, EVMS, etc).</li><li>Proven understanding of design development and design review process (30%/60%/90%) and extensive prior experience facilitating design package development.</li><li>Proven understanding of technical scope development and senior-level understating of common engineering design document deliverables.</li><li>Renders expert opinions on engineering and technical issues, provides recommendations to project design and construction teams in specific areas of expertise.</li><li>Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on high-hazard/high-consequence projects.</li><li>Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives, prepares and presents analysis and studies regarding organizational capabilities, performance, and areas for improvement.</li><li>Develops and enforces work standards, assigns schedules, reviews work quality, communicates goals, objectives, and policies of the organization.</li><li>Provides leadership for the project teams, coordinates with the functional organizations, and advises senior personnel within the PFE division.</li><li>Participates in schedule development and planning/scheduling activities for numerous small to moderate sizes projects. As needed, reviews and approves costs and schedule estimating activities.</li><li>Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of project teams. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.</li><li>Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer managers, normally involving matters between functional areas performing similar tasks.</li><li>Position requires experience and demonstrates skill in directing multi-discipline engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues in/around nuclear facilities.</li><li>Skilled in direction, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel. Skilled in process improvement, process analysis, and implementation/improvement of common business operations found in engineering organizations.</li><li>Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present technical and operations information to management/client.</li><li>Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.</li><li>Prior experience in a technical advisor / technical leadership role required.</li></ul><br>Position requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum 10 years of related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
