Dynavac is in search of a talented Welder/Fabricator who is experienced in the welding of stainless steel and aluminum for the fabrication of large industrial machinery to join our exceptional Fabrication Team. The successful candidate will have the skills and initiative to produce a superior quality of independent work according to blueprints, job specifications, work orders, and verbal instruction. You will have experience using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. You will have the knowledge, judgment, and a high focus on quality to successfully complete complex welding tasks and solve problems. If your experience is in repetitive, production line welding work you may not have the necessary skills for this role.

As a fabricator, you may be asked to travel to customer sires to assist with technical support for production, equipment operations, repair, and maintenance.

Dynavac, located in Hingham MA (south of Boston), is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment for a range of applications that include aerospace testing and thin film coatings. Work orders are project based, typically unique, and range in size and scope from < $50,000 to $5MM +. Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines including:

  • Design and fabrication of medium to large scale pressure vacuum vessels
  • Design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems
  • Field integration of shop-built components

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS *

  • Welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
  • Performs related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • May locate and repair cracks in industrial products, using inspection equipment and gas torch.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS
  • May be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations
  • High School diploma or equivalent; vocational school preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience in various forms of welding
  • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to wear safety shoes, goggles, hoods with protective lenses, and other PPE designed to prevent injuries
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
