  • Reporting to the Welding Administrator, the position is responsible for performing all functions of welding ensuring personal and product safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment to weld castings, Sheetmetal details, etc.
  • Following Job Operation Sheets to complete repairs as necessary
  • Complete moderate to advanced fitting and welding tasks while applying standard practices.
  • Capable of obtaining and holding required weld qualifications/certifications
  • Perform plug welds in castings, cosmetic weld build up and standard join configurations
  • Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gages and other inspection tools or fixtures.
  • Identify any Red flag problem areas.
  • Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings and documents.
  • Involvement in development work, fixturing and process.
  • Work independently with limited oversight.
  • Meet or exceed operations standards for efficiency.
  • Knows when to stop and find appropriate interpretation when necessary.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of how to produce quality parts.
  • Must be able to use mathematics relevant to functions.

  • Comply with all company and department housekeeping and safety rules.
  • Report any violations or safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Perform other duties as required.


  • 5 Plus years TIG/GTAW experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding trade school or equivalent experience.
  • Must pass internal welder qualification for welding magnesium within introductory period.
  • Must qualify for stainless and aluminum certifications within the first year.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
  • Experience in welding aerospace components comprised of inconel, aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
  • Familiar with a variety of metals and finishes.
    • Use mathematical and reading skills.
    • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
    • Working knowledge of safety protocols.
    • Experience working with close tolerances.
    • Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment (NADCAP and FAA requirements).
    • Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
    • Meets D17.1 visual acceptance criteria (corrective or non-corrective).
    • Strong communication skills as well as a team player.
  • Preferred Experience & Physical Abilities
    • Aerospace welding background.
    • Manufacturing background.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, using small/large tools).
    • Ability to tolerate constant noise (machine motors, grinding, high frequency etc.).

Second Shift hours 3:30pm - midnight; 10% Differential
40 plus OT when available and when certified
