Purpose:
As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating care. You will be responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
Position Summary (not all inclusive)
  • Perform and document patient assessments at the time of the admission.
  • Create a plan of care, including discharging plans, revise the plans based onthepatient's response to treatment and regularly evaluate plans for effectiveness.
  • Document the outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
  • Provide educational materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
  • Perform venipuncture, administer and maintain IV fluids and IV medications.
  • Review all new physician orders, ensure orders are carried out and documented correctly, verify that other departments are notified of orders and services.
  • Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Nurse Leader and to the oncoming shift to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications
  • Texas Registered Nurse License without restrictions (required)
  • BLS (CPR) certification (required)
  • ACLS certification within six (6) months of employment (required)
  • 1 year of Clinical Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care Setting (preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (required)
