Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVU - Cardiovascular Unit Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, flexible Employment Type: Staff SUMMARY OF POSITION: This role offers an exceptional experience for new RN graduates to continue to learn and grow in their nursing career while assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a variety of patients. Graduate nurse residents are expected to commit to full-time employment for at least a year, as well as actively participate in all learning opportunities that are offered. UNIT DESCRIPTION: 8 Main is a fast paced 29 bed, progressive care cardiopulmonary telemetry unit, serving the adult population with medically acute diagnosis. We are the only non-ICU unit in the hospital with the capability of caring for patients who are mechanically vented. We are the unit of choice for heart failure, sepsis, respiratory compromised situations requiring CPAP/Bipap, high flow oxygenation as well as multisystem compromised patients. We are trained in caring for complex IV drips requiring telemetry monitoring as well as general medicine cases such as renal failure and acute on chronic illnesses. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Graduate nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact by start date. BLS required prior to orientation completion.
