About the Job:

Peak Energy is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will encompass comprehensive financial responsibilities, including overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, running payroll, compliance, managing customer invoices, paying vendors, and budget tracking activities. The ideal candidate will have a controller mindset with a strong background in finance and accounting, capable of ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective financial managemen

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Management:
    • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
    • Conduct regular financial audits and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate accurate and timely financial reports for senior management.
    • Monitor actual performance against the budget and provide variance analysis.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
  • Payroll Management:
    • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages.
    • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Compliance and Tax Management:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Manage tax filings and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
    • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Vendor Payments and Accounts Payable:
    • Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors.
    • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable records.
    • Manage vendor relationships and address any payment issues.
  • Customer Invoices and Accounts Receivable:
    • Manage the creation, issuance, and tracking of customer invoices.
    • Oversee the collection of payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
    • Resolve any billing discrepancies and respond to customer inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or controller role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
