Job Description Summary: The Software Engineer-III designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determines software’s compatibility with hardware and/or influences software's design in relation to hardware. Position Reports to: Manager, Software Engineering Job Overview: ChangeMan ZDD is a network file system that operates on a PC networked with a z/OS® operating system. From your PC, you can access z/OS® -based data sets, job output, and Unix files that reside on a z/OS server. ChangeMan ZDD also gives you desktop access to ChangeMan® ZMF instances, applications, packages, and libraries, which appear as folders in Windows® Explorer and other PC applications. You can perform many ChangeMan ZMF functions from your PC, and all of the ChangeMan ZMF software configuration management rules and restrictions are enforced. The required skills for the ZDD development candidate: Windows Device Driver Development Windows Kernel mode Development Windows .Net experience Windows UI/GUI development Visual Studio IDE Knowledge of SCM process XML processing / communication 10 years of development experience is required, preferably in a software vendor environment. Knowledge of mainframes and the z/OS® operating system is a plus but not required.
