We are looking for an effective intermediate Accounting Support Specialist who has the ability to work diligently to help maintain smooth operations. You will undertake a variety of activities in accounting ranging from invoicing, filing, reconciliation, purchasing, and accounts payable. You must be reliable and hardworking with great communication skills. The ideal candidate will be familiar with office equipment and accounting procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide accounting and clerical support.
  • Assist with the data entry of accounts receivable and payable invoices.
  • Assist with general office duties including making copies, scanning documents, faxing, and mailing.
  • Assist accounting with special projects.
  • Assist with general office filing.
  • Processing of bank deposits, retrieval, and processing of incoming mail.
  • Posts journal entries to general ledger.
  • Assist with reconciling credit card transactions.
  • Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
  • Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
  • Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
Skills
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a computer and knowledge of standard and specific business applications, such as computerized accounting, e-mail, electronic spreadsheet development, database, and word processing; ability to learn new software applications.
  • 4-5 years office/bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and terminology.
  • Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and find percentages.
  • Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others.
  • Accountability, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude are a must.
  • Yardi experience a plus.
