Responsible for accounting processes for Arbor Housing and Deveolpment.

Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:

  • Experience or Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Preference will be given candidates who possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Dynamic, positive outlook, strong work ethic, well organized
  • Effective, professional, healthy verbal and non-verbal communication skills when interacting with clients, colleagues, supervisors, outside professionals, vendors, funders, etc.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with a diverse group of people AND to work productively independently
  • Ability to navigate new software programs necessary
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary for reconciling variances; compiling and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual reports; and performing necessary reconciliations on financial data.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, MS Office

Key Job Functions:

  • Maintains client records in Financial Edge accounting software
  • Verifies accounts receivable invoices and deposits are entered accurately and completely
  • Completes required monthly reconciliations
  • Verifies accounts payable invoices are entered accurately and completely
  • Prepares cash requirement reports weekly to review impact of check run on cash balances
  • Manages vendor relationships, main contact for changes or to resolve issues
  • Assists with preparation for the audit
  • Uses Financial Edge accounting software to enter data and maintain accurate records
  • Uses Microsoft Excel to track, analyze, and calculate data
  • Analyzes a wide variety of financial data and communicates it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Creates and maintains SOPs for job functions

Work Schedule and Salary Range

  • Full time, non-exempt position in Corning, NY, 7:30am to 4:00pm, 45-minute lunch, Monday through Friday with flexibility in scheduling after completion of introductory period, including working remotely part-time.

Arbor Housing and Development Expectations:

  • Report to work on time and work your scheduled shift, except in cases of emergency.
  • In the case of an emergency, contact your immediate supervisor and/or designee for guidance.
