Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be involved in a range of accounting tasks, such as transaction processing, record maintenance, and expense tracking. Responsibilities: - Oversee the accurate and timely entry and payment of all accounts payable. - Record revenue and cash receipts accurately and promptly. - Assist in creating and filing of yearly 1099's and 1096. - Manage assigned month-end, quarterly, and year-end journal entries. - Handle monthly sales tax reporting, if applicable. - Follow up on stale checks and report yearly to the State of Michigan. - Accurately enter all vendor ACH bank information in ACH software. - Reconcile assigned accounts monthly and maintain all W-9's and ACH forms. - Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. - Review the grant reports in the accounting software monthly and track/reconcile the expenses with the Academy/Institute grant staff.
