About the Position

The ITS Analyst Sr (Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)) will facilitate the coordination and integration of program related activities through vendor-supported and in-house developed software. The incumbent will define system scope, objectives, and business requirements to meet user needs, assist business customers in making informed decisions regarding the development, configuration, and functionality of various application, and provide technical consulting to end users on systems projects. The incumbent will provide coordination and services relevant to key functions of software supported by the Information Technology Services (ITS) department, which supports a variety of end users and software, usually provided by a third-party vendor. The ITS Analyst Sr will contribute to the support and maintenance of assigned applications and serve as a technical point-of-contact.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
  • Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
  • Analyzes program logic with upgrades to vendor changes as well as technical infrastructure impacts.
  • Works with in-house development staff or vendor and business department to devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Develops, generates, and maintains standard, custom, and ad-hoc documentation, including reports and/or queries from the applicable source system.
  • Monitors, audits, and administers database integrity and security; researches and recommends solutions to system issues.
  • Designs, analyzes, and maintains system configuration data and new ITS modules, work process design and flow.
  • Assists in identifying new application requirements and software products to fulfill needs.
  • Makes alterations to maximize programs/technology to meet business requirements within the constraints of the system; makes recommendation for data storage, test plans, user documentation.
  • Produces ITS solutions for assigned projects.
  • Works closely with vendor(s), requesting business department, ITS staff and other users to research and resolve system and/or user problems.
  • Act as a liaison between relevant internal ITS and business departments, application development staff and trading partner community.
  • Performs functional configuration tasks for ITS modules and tables to satisfy requests for fixes, changes, and enhancements; tests and troubleshoots related issues.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of new ITS modules and other system enhancements.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and makes recommendations for process flow, data storage, test plans, user documentation and training.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Services or related field required.
  • 5 years of healthcare EDI experience with an understanding of healthcare EDI standards (X12) and transactions sets required.
  • 5 years background in ITS related to health services required.
  • 5 years of ITS technical application support experience required.
  • 5 years of computer hardware and/or software troubleshooting techniques and system support required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Project Management Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile.
  • Experience with system interfaces and an understanding of data mapping.
  • Experience with SQL Server 2016.
