The CVICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a RN Unit Supervisor. This is a full-time position – day/night rotation.
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 24-bed unit in the Inova Schar Heart and Vascular, located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Patients admitted to the CVICU include, but are not limited to, post cardiac surgery, post vascular surgery, heart failure requiring invasive cardiac monitoring, and other medical or surgical diagnosis requiring intense and continuous monitoring.
The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor:
- Serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
- Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
- Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person Inova Health System is privileged to serve – every time, every touch.
- Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.

Requirements:
- A minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Prefer 4+ years of CVICU RN experience.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has Associate Degree (ADN) RN must be within one year of completing their BSN.
- Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 3 months.
- BLS required. ACLS preferred prior to start date.
- Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
