Position Overview: As a Cardiovascular Technologist with expertise in Cardiac Sonography, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. Your responsibilities will include operating specialized imaging equipment, conducting echocardiograms, and assisting physicians in assessing and treating patients with heart-related issues. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cardiac sonography procedures, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), to evaluate cardiac function, anatomy, and blood flow.
  • Set up and maintain cardiovascular diagnostic equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide real-time imaging support during cardiac procedures and surgeries.
  • Accurately record and maintain patient records, including images and test results, in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Educate patients about procedures, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort and safety during examinations.
  • Assist in the interpretation of test results, prepare preliminary findings, and report critical findings to physicians promptly.
  • Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, ensuring the highest standards of imaging quality and patient care.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in cardiac sonography through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
  • Certification in Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) through a recognized certifying body (e.g., ARDMS or CCI).
  • Current state licensure as a Cardiovascular Technologist or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • CPR certification and knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in a cardiology department or cardiac catheterization lab.
  • Advanced certification in cardiac sonography (e.g., RDCS in Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography, or Fetal Echocardiography).
  • Proficiency in using specialized cardiac imaging software and equipment.
