Description

This Sr. Business Analyst role at Skyworks Solutions is a pivotal position that requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in the semiconductor industry. This role is responsible for spearheading initiatives to enhance cost efficiency, bolster gross margins, and support market share expansion in the mobile market business segment.

This role reports directly to the Director of Product Line Management for the Mobile Solutions Business unit and can be located in our Newbury Park or Irvine, CA location.

In this role, you will work synergistically with the IT and data science departments. to forge advanced online analytical tools to process and interpret vast data sets, discern trends, and formulate actionable strategies. These strategies will be instrumental in guiding the design engineering and manufacturing teams resulting in refined product costs and increased gross margin. The successful candidate will influence cross-functional teams, including, but not limited to finance, sourcing, marketing, program management, design engineering, and manufacturing, to realize the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaboration:Partner with Skyworks' IT department and data science teams to enhance Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, ensuring high data integrity standards and streamlined analysis and reporting processes

- Data Management:Define and drive the implementation of robust methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights through collaboration with IT

- BOM Review:Ensure accuracy and consistency across various systems such as SAP, Agile, Hyperion, and others by reviewing and updating the Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products

- Cost Optimization:Utilize data automation techniques to analyze product cost trends to identify and implement cost-saving measuresto improve gross margin.

- Communication:Effectively present data findings and strategic insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely

- Predictive Analytics: Define and oversee the implementation of statistical and machine learning models to uncover patterns, trends, and predictions within data sets by collaborating with the data science team and data engineering from IT

- Model Management:Regularly assess the performance of analytical models, optimizing and recalibrating as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance

Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business or a related field
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and/or proficiency in P&L management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience with data analysis and modeling tools such as Microsoft SQL
  • MBA or Finance background
  • Excel programming experience

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$110,600 -$210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
