Speech Therapist

ATC Healthcare Metro Detroit is currently looking for a licensed Speech Therapist for the Child and Adolescent Unit at Walter Reuther Psych Hospital

Job Description:

We are searching for a flexible, resourceful speech therapist to join our team. The speech therapist's responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques. You should also be able to work with patients from different backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of speech pathology programs
• Assist in related rehabilitative and diagnostic services for speech impaired individuals
• Knowledge of methods used to detect and correct hearing disorders, determine applicable treatment
• plans and options
• Knowledge of the pathology of hearing and speech disorders
• Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who have a variety of treatment need and varying levels of
• hearing
• Teach patients and vocal improvement techniques
• Teach alternative communication methods, i.e. sign language with little or no speech capabilities

• Bachelors or Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
• Relevant license and certification.
• Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
• Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
• Familiarity with database management software.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
