Position Summary

The Hand Therapy Clinic Manager is a leadership role which is responsible for performing exceptional patient care, in addition to providing strong leadership to Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapist Assistants.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities

Exercises fair and firm leadership of all Office employees, establishing and maintaining high morale in the department
Monitors the level and standard of work produced by staff and guides, coaches, and advises as appropriate
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests
Conducts regular performance reviews
Oversees staff payroll, time-cards, and paid time off
Supervises all non-physician office staff and ancillary personnel, coordinating activities to accomplish the goals of the practice and the office
Implements and monitors office policies and procedures
Works with the management team and office staff to coordinate the functions of patient care services across the practice
Ensures superior service for all patients of the practice
Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms
Diagnoses movement dysfunction and develops a treatment plan
Teaches patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques
Assists patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers
Maintains patient records and documents goals and progress
Utilizes knowledge of patient's diagnosis, signs, and symptoms presented and results of diagnostic studies to determine the patient's level of function
Sets priorities and establishes realistic short-term goals and long-term outcomes
Documents and maintains a plan of care for each patient which includes specific physical therapy orders in coordination with the medical plan of care
Appropriately utilizes the capabilities of personnel in assignment of self and team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High proficiency with computers, MS Office, and practice management systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, along with excellent leadership, customer service, and service recovery skills.

Position Requirements

BS, MS or Doctorate in Physical or Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
Current Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist license required
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation preferred
Orthopedic practice experience in Hand Therapy highly preferred
Current CPR Certification
