RN - Full Time Nurse

Job Summary

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents in a skilled nursing setting
• Supervise care provided by CNA's, LPN's, and supportive staff members
• Participate in resident and family teaching/conferences
• Maintain a role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility's mission

Core Job Responsibilities

• Assess residents on admission and when conditions change
• Educate residents and families regarding pain management
• Document appropriately including Care Plans and Medical Record
• Notify physician of changes in resident's condition
• Accompany physician on floor rounds and prepare reviews in advance
• Give a thorough report to oncoming shift by participating in walking rounds
• Implement plan of care and evaluate for effectiveness
• Administer medications and reduce potential for errors
• Remain calm in emergency and/or stressful situations
• Comply with all applicable regulations and MVHS policies and procedures

Education/Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• One year experience in long term care preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure in NYS
• Basic Life Support Certification preferred
