Responsibilities
Follow GMP's
• Wear appropriate PPE
• Follow LOCK OUT / TAG OUT procedures
• Use cleaning equipment such as power washers, portable foamers, portable sanitizers, hoses, mops, brooms, color coded brushes, buckets and scrub pads etc.
• Obtain information related to chemicals used to perform cleaning activities in the plant
o Utilize MSDS sheets to obtain information for all chemicals, and be aware of the MSDS sheets locations
o Gain knowledge thru training on how to use and fill equipment with the appropriate chemical concentrations
o Use chemical test kits to check for the appropriate concentration levels.
o Completes required paperwork to document chemical concentration levels in cleaning solutions
• Operates floor scrubber, forklift, scissor lift (company will train and certify).
• Upon completion of cleaning assignments - inspect work. Make sure all paperwork is completed accurately and signed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2-3 years Sanitation experience
• Experience in Food Industry is a plus but not necessary
• Ability to work from written and/or verbal instructions
• Ability to use a utility knife safely that will be provided by the company
• Ability to learn while being trained by an experienced Sanitation Tech
• Ability to follow safety rules and requirements
• Ability to use powered cleaning equipment
• Ability to accurately read and understand equipment cleaning procedures
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team
• Ability to follow GMP and other Food Safety and Quality requirements
Must bel able to climb stairs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to frequently walk over short distances within the facility
• Must be able to balance on ladders and on top of platforms
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel
Work Environment:
Work is performed indoors in a mixing production facility and exposed to the smell and dust of different raw spices as these are being blended into commercial formulas.
Pay Range
USD $21.32 - USD $23.32 /Hr.
