Schedule Notes:

  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Weekends Required, Holidays Required, On Call Optional.
  • 13-Week Assignment
  • LSW/LCSW or LAC/LPC License Required
  • BLS-Aha Certification Required
  • Experience in Emergency Psychiatric Services or inpatient behavioral health settings preferred, but not required.
  • SOMC Emergency Psychiatric Service: Providing treatment in the Emergency Department for patients with acute psychiatric symptoms.
  • Position operates on a 3-week rotation, with coverage required every 3rd weekend and varying days during the week.
  • Must be highly reliable and available to work all days other than those pre-disclosed prior to offer.
  • Must not have alternative jobs that would interfere with HMH schedule being a priority.

Duties:

Job Summary:
The Licensed Social Worker (LSW) provides patient treatment under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), utilizing various modalities as part of the clinical treatment team. This role encompasses assessment, therapy, and comprehensive case management services, ensuring patients receive effective and compassionate care.

Essential Generic Job Functions:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' psychosocial needs, developing and reviewing treatment plans accordingly.
  2. Deliver effective treatment to patients, sharing and interpreting information with staff, families, and approved agencies.
  3. Complete written reports in a timely manner as per Medical Center or Agency policy.
  4. Provide psychotherapeutic services in compliance with licensure regulations, interpreting patient needs and treatment requirements.
  5. Offer individual and group psychotherapeutic services under clinical supervision, adhering to professional standards of practice.
  6. Provide comprehensive case management and discharge planning services, collaborating with patients, families, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
  7. Ensure patients' discharge plans align with their continuing care needs, promoting the least restrictive environment for ongoing care.
  8. Maintain accurate patient records and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and emergency interventions as needed.
  9. Adapt care delivery to meet the specific needs of the patient population, including cultural, linguistic, and developmental considerations.
  10. Adhere to organizational competencies and standards identified by the Medical Center.

Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention theory and its application in medical settings.
  • Understanding of psychopathology, differential diagnosis, and treatment techniques.
