Position Overview

Position : HMIS Database Manager

Status : Non-exempt, Full-time

Reports to : Data + Evaluation Director

Unit : Data + Evaluation

Pay Range : $70,000 - $80,000

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational database management.
  • Advanced customer service and training skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach.
  • HMIS System Administrator experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the homelessness service delivery system is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet. Experience with Business Objects and SQL preferred.
What Youll Do:

As the HMIS Database Manager, you will . . .

  • Serve as primary HMIS Database Manager for the Homelessness Response System.
  • Perform routine data quality checks and quality assurance report generation with interpretation of data.
  • Provide appropriate individual technical assistance for HMIS site administrators by addressing and documenting issues within 24 hours of submission during business days.
  • Prepare HMIS Database Training for group, classroom, and virtual settings.
  • Participate in the annual review and certification of HMIS data.
  • Update and prepare reports as needed to include required data elements.
  • Develop and maintain HMIS Policies and Procedures Manual, Data Dictionary, HMIS Training Guide, and HMIS Training videos, as needed.
  • Maintain complete and adequate files, records, and documents.
  • Complete data entry for select seasonal/temporary homeless program.
  • Other duties as assigned. For instance,
    • Ensure there is a back-up trained for the role.
    • Perform backup responsibilities for team members as needed.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and practices in the field.
