Operating Room Registered Nurse - Weekend Program

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing care to patients in the operating room by utilizing the nursing process and maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation. This includes completing initial assessments, developing care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and modifying plans based on evaluation. The role also involves ensuring patient and employee safety, communicating with colleagues, fulfilling departmental competencies, and preparing the OR suite for procedures.

Specific responsibilities include interviewing patients, transporting them to the OR suite and onto the OR table, positioning and prepping patients for procedures, supporting the surgical team during procedures, and transporting patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or specific unit and providing a handoff to the receiving RN.
