Position Overview: As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver high-quality therapeutic services in compliance with facility standards and State and Federal regulations. Your responsibilities include assessment, intervention, documentation, consultation, program development, and resident supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Tailored Therapeutic Plans : Plan and implement therapeutic services aligned with IEP goals and objectives, adapting strategies to fit individual student strengths and learning styles.-
  • Utilize Research-Based Practices: Enhance student abilities through evidence-based methodologies that support effective functioning in educational settings.-
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Implement the North Spring Behavioral Program, collecting data and adjusting strategies to promote a nurturing and positive atmosphere.-
  • Crisis Management: Respond effectively to crisis situations and manage patient behaviors in line with our Behavioral Management Program.-
  • Track and Enhance Student Progress: Assess student progress using both qualitative and quantitative
  • Promote Independence: Focus on enhancing students' abilities to function effectively in their least restrictive environment, preventing impairment through early intervention.-
  • Engage in Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional growth through on-site and off-site training and staff meetings as requested by the school principal.
  • Exemplify Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, staff, parents, and agency personnel, serving as a positive role model for students.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or professional doctorate from an accredited university or college.
  • Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Occupational Therapist license.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic practices, and effective intervention methodologies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent human relations skills.
  • Required certificates, licenses, and registrations: current driver's license with a good driving record, CPR certification, First Aid Certificate, and Crisis Management Certification.
