Position Summary: In this role, you will develop and implement multidimensional communications strategies for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Information Technology (IT) Shared Services, which provides IT services across the Thermo Fisher enterprise. You will directly manage the internal and external communications needs of the VPs of Corporate Solutions & Integrations (CSI) and Enterprise Technology Organization (ETO). You will play a meaningful role in being a strategic communication thought partner and leading and implementing the communications strategies to support business priorities/initiatives. This includes executive communications and messaging, organizational communications, digital media and multi-channel communication strategies. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, the ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, executive presence, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to completion. In addition, you will have proven experience developing trusted working relationships with senior executives, providing critical communications counsel while setting appropriate expectations for how to leverage it. You will also need design skills to support PowerPoint and intranet development. The individual will also reinforce company messages and follow corporate brand standards. Key Responsibilities Act as a communications advisor, partner and mentor to the VP leaders of CSI and ETO Provide executive-level communications plans and materials for senior leadership, working proactively to anticipate needs and develop compelling and tailored messaging Develop and execute compelling narratives to inspire, educate and influence external and internal audiences. Bring strategic solutions and creative strategies to all aspects of the executive communications needs Support core executive communications programs including quarterly Town Hall meetings and other leadership team meetings and initiatives Partner with HR on organizational change communications initiatives, including developing business-level key messages, talking points, FAQs and other materials. Build compelling visual content for town hall presentations, communication decks, intranet, videos, newsletters and other forums as needed Develop and lead departmental intranet strategies Develop Viva Engage strategies to improve awareness and engagement Bring new ways to deliver communications creatively, efficiently, and practically by challenging current processes and recommending innovative approaches. Measure communications effectiveness and adapt plans and tactics as needed Collaborate across the broader communications team to ensure efficiency, productivity and consistency, while building comradery How you will get there Minimum 7+ years experience in corporate or employee communications and organizational change Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, creative writing, liberal arts, marketing, or similar subject area Experience working within or partnering with an IT or technology department Expert writer, editor and communicator Excellent PowerPoint and MS Office skill; experience with Microsoft Modern SharePoint a strong plus Strong storytelling skills to articulate technical messages to a variety of audiences Ability to work in a fast paced and highly matrixed organization Ability to influence and facilitate collaboration and alignment between customers, including senior leaders Ability to flex work hours as needed Ability to work closely with leaders on activity prioritization to align on shifting business needs Knowledge and understanding of emerging communication trends and ability to use them in practical business applications Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts Collaborative, strong teammate with executive presence Strategic problem solver with an ability to implement plans High-energy, self-directed and goal-oriented Experience with internal social media and intranet content development platforms Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal and to establish and maintain strong relationships Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization Acute business insight and understanding of organizational issues and challenges Sense of humor, resourceful, flexible, resilient, technology savvy and high comfort level with change Ability to travel internationally and domestically, as needed Strong problem-solving skills (e.g., ability to objectively analyze practices, identify root cause problems and improvement opportunities, formulate a range of options to address them, outline relative strengths, build consensus for a preferred solution.)
