MEP- HVAC Design Engineer- Mechanical Engineer
Our client is an established MEP consulting engineering firm in the local area, in growth mode due to business and is actively seeking to add an MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) with approximately four (4) or more years of relevant experience. This role will provide energy efficient, sustainable, planning & technical designs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial, educational, industrial, and corporate projects.

Job Duties:
In tandem with senior leadership:
Develop conceptual designs
Equipment selection
Preparation of models and calculations
Preparation of design drawings, specifications, and control sequences of operation
During project construction carrying out submittal reviews, making construction site visits and observing system start-ups
Interact closely with company staff and mgmt., clients, and project architect.
Support project team and coordinate with project managers
Prepare drawings and assist with design drafting
Coordinate drawing sets to ensure information is correct
Design HVAC and/or Plumbing systems
Assist with preparation of project proposals, contracts, reports, and specifications
Construction inspection and shop drawing review
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering, plumbing engineering, or related discipline
Ideally four (4) or more years’ experience in MEP systems design for commercial, educational, industrial, and corporate projects
NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) experience a plus
EIT or PE registration a plus
Knowledge/Understanding of LEED and Green Building practices a plus.
Knowledge of the Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards and National Fire Protection Association Standards
Fluency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products, and various engineering software tools
