MHCS, a full-service public accounting firm located in West Des Moines, IA, provides a complete range of services including audit, tax, business advisory, accounting, consulting and financial planning. We are currently seeking a motivated team player with 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience to lead multiple client engagements.
*Responsibilities:*
* Perform first or second level review on engagements, including complex tax returns, and provide timely feedback to staff, seniors and supervisors
* Conduct advanced tax planning and research
* Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and quarterly reviews
* Maintain active communication with clients to serve as business advisor, manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively
* Perform business development including networking and marketing MHCS services to new and existing clients
* Gain an understanding of client operations and business objectives including firm processes and procedures while supporting leadership decisions
* Remain current on all CPE requirements and applicable law changes/updates
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
* 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience, including 2+ years at a supervisory level
* CPA license
* Strong technical skills with the ability to professionally manage engagements to budget
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local level regulations
* Positive attitude and sound judgment with strong communication, organizational, leadership, supervisory, and computer skills including Word, Excel and tax software proficiency
