Sigma healthcare team is currently looking for Interventional Radiological Technologist to work onsite at contracted in Las Vegas.
Position Summary:
  • Assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid. Performs diagnostic exams on patients in the specialized areas of interventional radiology. Assists with diagnostic angiography, neuro- interventional, and other invasive procedures.

Knowledge , Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements :
Knowledge of:
  • Procedures and protocols associated with radiation; specialized equipment used in interventional cases; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques; quality assurance and quality control measures; neuro-body disease; aseptic techniques and sterile field setup; vascular anatomy, pressures; catheter curves; rated burst pressures and compliance; personal computers; department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:
  • Utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation; applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients properly to maximize results; instructing patients about procedures and post-procedure rules and guidelines; performing interventional procedures; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and computer screens, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Education/Experience:
  • Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required; and one (1) year of experience in interventional radiology preferred.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
  • State of Nevada License in Radiology.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • May require National Certification in Vascular Imaging.
