Reporting to the Director, Emergency Services, Nursing Service Admin, this position provides coordination, leadership and direction for the Saint Agnes stroke program. The incumbent will function as an expert in clinical practice and program development, demonstrating mastery in change management, system and patient care improvement, persuasion, and influence. The incumbent collaborates with all members of the healthcare team and serves as a change agent by developing evidence-based practice standards, assisting in the implementation of evidenced based practice, facilitating goal setting and achievement, and evaluating outcomes for stroke patients. The incumbent facilitates the bedside clinical care to assure that all stroke patients receive comprehensive and timely treatment interventions that are consistent with best practice recommendations. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining The Joint Commission (TJC) advanced certification as a Primary Stroke Center (PSC). 1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California is required. 2. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related area is preferred. 3. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required. 4. Five (5) years of recent acute care clinical experience is required. Experience in neuroscience nursing is preferred. 5. Ability to translate practice guidelines and research findings to clinical practice is required. 6. Ability to effectively identify, assess, and facilitate resolution of any conflict which may arise and to adjust project scope appropriately is required. 7. Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate complex clinical and technical concepts effectively with a wide variety of individuals is required. 8. Advanced analytical skills necessary to develop sound recommendations and assist in implementing improved delivery of care systems, policies and procedures, evaluating clinical practice outcomes and developing educational programs is required. 9. Strong time management skills and effective oral and written communication skills is required. 10. Previous experience in program development and management is preferred.
