We are searching for a Senior Financial Analyst, CPA to, under the general direction of the Corporate Accounting Manager, perform a variety of duties in support of the Accounting and Finance departments including but not limited to:

Prepare and/or review investment, debt and restricted contribution activity summaries and related journal entries;
Perform monthly reconciliations for related accounts including analysis required to validate ending balances;
Perform research on issues critical to the preparation of the monthly journal entries and financial statement disclosures;
Provide assistance to business leaders regarding designated funds, and other special projects as needed;
Collaborate and facilitate efficient information sharing across the organization to meet investment and compliance requirements.
Responsible for GAAP disclosures in related areas.
Take the lead on projects that require in depth financial reporting and accounting expertise..

Hours: 40 hours

Shift: Day shift; 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: Southcoast Business Center -Fairhaven, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university is required.
Two or more years of public accounting experience is required with a history of nonprofit experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and demonstrated ability to research and understand new GAAP pronouncements is required.
Deep understanding of investment and philanthropy accounting, general accounting and financial expertise, and strong analytical skills is preferred.
MBA/MSA is preferred.
CPA certification is required.

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and seasonal Influenza. Must provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
