They specialize in the Education, Healthcare, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Commercial work.Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities for a Construction Estimator are:Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.Interface with Owner, A/E and /or subcontractors to provide accurate cost conceptual estimates as needed by our clientsParticipate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.Utilize and complete the subcontractor and distribute documents to interested bidders.Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques/ideas/products, and subcontractor efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materialsWork with Cities and Municipalities to identify and procure required permits.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
