The Senior Accountant will provide support to various areas in the accounting department such as month-end close, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and change order approvals. Extensive knowledge of contract progress draw submission in the construction industry is crucial.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on month-end close, focusing on AR/AP functions, and auditing work for accuracy.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of debits, credits, general ledger reporting, and manage inter-company invoicing and reconciliations.
• Assist in cash flow forecasting, reviewing job costing, and optimizing decision-making with project managers and accounting team.
• Review pending change orders, supporting AR Supervisor in Change Order processing, and ensuring timely approval and payment.
• Audit expense transactions for coding accuracy and collaborate with AP team for efficient invoice processing.
• Import and integrate budgets into the financial system, collaborating with stakeholders and validating accuracy.
• Must keep abreast of all company, state, and federal regulations or laws at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and/or, at least 3-5 years of experience.
• Working Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Cost Accounting experience required.
• Experience using accounting software for invoicing or other accounting activities.
• Extensive knowledge in California Construction Lien Law.

• Construction AP /AR experience highly desirable.
• Extensive general ledger experience in construction industry.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Excel is strongly preferred.
• 10-Key data entry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Ability to follow through on commitments.
• Must be coachable and open to feedback and improvement.
• Strong communication and comprehension.
• Have good time management with the excellent multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail.

Pay range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience.
